Steel Wire Rod (2nd Choice)
High Carbon & Low Carbon
Wire rod is the raw material and your starting point for making a finished wire.
Wire rods are often reduced to the desired diameter and properties by repeated drawing through progressively smaller dies, or traditionally holes in draw plates. After a number of passes the wire may be annealed to facilitate more drawing or, if it is a finished product, to maximise ductility and conductivity.
Steel wire rod is available in various sizes, with a range of diameters from 5.5mm to 55.0mm, and coil unit weights of 2 tons. It can be manufactured into different products, such as piano wire rods, PC wire rods, cold heading wire rods, and low carbon steel wire rods.
